A tragedy occurred at the Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park in Merced, California on April 13th, when a 10-year-old boy, Anthony Duran, lost consciousness after getting into a physical fight with another child. Sadly, Duran died from his injuries four days later.
Altercation at Trampoline Park
According to KFSN, the altercation happened at around 5 p.m. while Duran was playing basketball with his friends. A fight broke out between him and another child, causing Duran to collapse. The other children ran away, and bystanders quickly stepped in to administer CPR until first responders arrived.
Police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and have obtained surveillance footage. They have also interviewed 35 witnesses, including staff, parents, and children. The other child involved in the altercation has been identified, and the police have contacted their parents.
Autopsy and Legal Action
The Merced County Coroner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Duran’s death. Meanwhile, the Merced County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case with the police to determine if any charges will be filed.
