Access Control - Overview and Example.

 Access Control

What is an Access Control?

Access control is a technique to restrict unauthorized access to a system or physical locations. Access control always requires a person to give identification to prove him/her authorized to the restricted place or system. Access control minimizes the risk of security breaches in a business.

Access control can be set on different levels, some may allow a user to read only a document, or there might be some control on writing a document. Somebody who wants to get the authorization must submit the identification to get access to the restricted place or system.
